Karos, the leader in daily carpooling in Europe, and BlaBlaCar announce they are entering exclusive negotiations regarding a project to acquire BlaBlaCar's daily carpooling business.
By bringing together more than 150,000 active carpoolers every month, over 11 million trips completed every year, as well as a network of more than 250 local authorities and 1,500 partner companies, this project would give daily carpooling the means to reach a new stage in its development in France and Europe.
This project is made possible by the renewed support of Karos' historical shareholders, led by Ring Capital, Citizen Capital, and Eiffel Investment Group, who would support the planned operation through a significant strengthening of the company's equity capital. Together with BlaBlaCar Daily, which has become a benchmark in the sector, should allow Karos to reach the critical mass needed to durably strengthen its capacity for innovation and investment, and to accelerate the development of daily carpooling among local authorities, companies, and users in France and Europe.
For BlaBlaCar, this project reflects a desire to focus its investments and innovations on developing its global platform, while entrusting its daily carpooling business to an operator entirely dedicated to this sector, already firmly established in France and in several European countries, under the best conditions to accelerate its growth.
