Le Routard sold to Hachette Livre

Hachette Livre acquires the brand and operations of Le Routard

Hachette Livre, a French publishing house, announces the acquisition of the brand and activities of Le Routard, a French collection of travel guides.

Le Routard was co-founded in 1975 by Philippe Gloaguen and published by Hachette Livre. The guide has established itself as the French reference for travel, with 50 million guides sold over 50 years. As an iconic brand and the leading collection of travel guides on the market, it now offers 160 titles, as well as coffee-table books and special editions related to travel.

Le Routard is present both in bookstores through its publications and online via Routard.com, where it shares tips and advice with a large community of loyal readers and travelers. Philippe Gloaguen chose to sell his brand and operations to Hachette Livre, after many years of fruitful collaboration, to ensure the continuity and enduring influence of his work. Hachette Livre will be committed to continuing to preserve Le Routard’s identity, along with the values that have shaped its success.
