StepInfo sold to Talan

Acquisition of JAVA / JEE specialist StepInfo will strengthen Talan’s digital transformation services

Founded in 2000 by Frédéric Sultan and Jérôme Gout, StepInfo is an IT services and consultancy firm that designs and integrates JAVA / JEE applications. It was one of the first firms to focus exclusively on these technologies. Its expertise in this environment enable it to address the needs of large institutional clients, mainly through owner/operator support services and project contract management.

The business of French group Talan is overhauling business processes and aligning information systems to enable and accelerate agile business transformation. It focuses on four areas: Finance & Insurance, Energy & Public Service, Transport & Logistics, and Telecom & Media. Talan’s acquisition of Stepinfo, which has developed a strong presence in the finance, insurance, public sector and services sectors, will enable Stepinfo to benefit from Talan’s close relationships with major service companies in France and abroad. The deal will enable Talan to enhance its expertise in IT technologies, which it has grouped together in Talan Labs.

Mehdi Houas, Chairman of the Talan group: “Our acquisition of Stepinfo has played a decisive role in our decision to create Talan Labs. Bringing over 400 of our consultants who design and develop tailor-made digital solutions together into a single ecosystem will create a uniquely powerful player in the market. Talan Labs will support our clients throughout their technology transformations and provide them with the interdisciplinary expertise they need. Talan Labs constitutes a new phase in our group’s dynamic growth process.”

Jonathan Journo, Senior Advisor at Cambon Partners: “Potential buyers expressed a lot of interest in StepInfo during a well-targeted and rapid deal process. This confirms that there is a growing appetite for firms with special expertise in a specific technology or sector.”
