After completing a Bachelor’s degree in International Business at Rotterdam School of Management, I joined ESSEC Business School, where I specialized in finance and strategy. I was first introduced to M&A during an internship at ODDO BHF, before spending more than two years at Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps) in financial valuation. Valuing companies of all sizes and across a wide range of industries, for both private equity funds and corporates, gave me a strong technical foundation. It also taught me how to quickly identify what drives value in a business.
I then joined the M&A team at CIC Conseil, where I worked on around fifteen transactions, including disposals, majority and minority LBOs, and tech fundraising rounds. I advised twelve business owners and executives through to closing.
What I enjoy most about this profession is the human side of it. Selling a company or bringing in new shareholders is often one of the most important decisions an entrepreneur will make in their lifetime. Supporting them through such an important moment requires listening, availability, a relationship built on trust, and sometimes even friendship. Our role is to advise: helping entrepreneurs take a step back, structure their thinking, and make the right decision, rather than simply running a process.
I also enjoy the variety of the work. Every transaction is an opportunity to immerse myself in a new environment: understanding a market, its key players, and what creates value within a business. Moving from food and beverage to B2B services or tech within the space of a few months provides a constant source of curiosity and learning.
At Cambon, I have found the same high standards and close relationships with entrepreneurs, within a tight-knit team where we move forward together.
