Qwant investment from Huawei

The French search engine has announced an €8 million capital raising with Huawei

Launched in 2013, the French research engine, Qwant, has announced that it raised €8 million in a convertible bond issue with Hubble Ventures, the venture capital fund of the giant Huawei.

Qwant ensures personal data protection to protect users’ privacy (zero cookies and no re-sale of personal data). The search engine also stands out through its display of neutral results highlighting current trends.

This capital raising is part of an ongoing existing partnership. In 2020, Huawei had already chosen Qwant as its default search engine for its upscale terminals in France and Germany. This capital raising will strengthen ties between the two companies, particularly for the development of Qwant in Europe.
