La France du Nord au Sud sold to Pierre & Vacances

France’s largest online holiday reseller acquires Maeva.com, P&V group’s Internet portal

Created in 2005 by Germain Lelarge and Mathias Durand, La France du Nord au Sud is an online travel retailer specialising in holidays in France. Its aim is to provide customers with France's largest selection of holidays and weekend breaks. Its offers are available across the company's lafrancedunordausud.fr and lespagnedunordausud.fr websites, and its dedicated ski site, leskidunordausud.fr.

This move allows Groupe Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs to expand its product portfolio, thanks to La France du Nord au Sud's wide range of properties, which include holiday homes, campsites, resorts, houses, villas and apartments.

"The rental market covers around 700,000 properties - 620,000 of which are in areas where we already operate - and 9 million people. It would be unthinkable for us not to expand into a fast-growing market", said Martine Balouka-Vallette, managing director of Groupe Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs and head of the company's tourism division. The company's long-term goal is to increase the number of rentals published on Maeva.com to 50,000 by 2020, and to double its presence in Spain with the addition of 8,000 new rental properties, thereby increasing annual turnover from 50 million to 100 millions euro.

"Joining Groupe Pierre & Vacances offers La France du Nord au Sud the opportunity to strengthen its position as the leading holiday retailer for France, and to significantly expand its presence in Spain", said Germain Lelarge, founder of La France du Nord au Sud.
