Marco Vasco sold to Groupe Figaro

High-end private trip specialist Marco Vasco joins Groupe Figaro

Created in 2007 by Geoffroy de Becdelièvre and Mathieu Bouchara, the group has completed several rounds of financing with well recognized investors (Alven Capital, Iris Capital and GIMV), as well as Olivier Duha (co-founder of Webhelp and private investor), which have accompanied the company in its successful development. Groupe Marco Vasco targets a clientele of individuals through two brands: Marco Vasco and Prestige Voyages.

Marco Vasco operates within the personalized travel segment, a market which is currently experiencing massive expansion. 150 travel advisors offer unique travel experiences, with a focus on superior customer service. 2017 will see revenues of over €65 million, with a promise of further growth.

Groupe Figaro has for several years been working on the diversification of its business, beyond media. The acquisition of Groupe Marco Vasco will allow Groupe Figaro to pursue its diversification strategy while strengthening its high-end travel division.

Less than a year on from its acquisition of Maisons du Voyage, Groupe Figaro has positioned itself as one of the travel sector’s key players. The acquisition of Marco Vasco will make Groupe Figaro’s travel division the second largest of its kind in France, with revenues of 120 million euros.

Both agencies have earned their respective reputations and complement each other with their distinctive strengths. Coordination of their operations and execution on their synergies will allow for the sustained growth of each company. Le Figaro's media marketing resources, digital expertise and rich databases will provide its acquisitions with vital growth levers .

This project will be submitted to Marco Vasco’s employee representative committee for advisory opinion, and to the appropriate competition authorities.
