Bimedia sold to Dl Software

The major POS technologies player in France enters into exclusive negotiations with DL Software

DL Software, the French leader in business software publishing, has entered into exclusive negotiations with Eurazeo and the management team of Bimedia, the leading developer of POS (Point of Sales) solutions, with a view to acquiring the company.

The planned transaction, which is currently subject to an information-consultation procedure with staff representative bodies, remains subject to approval from the French Competition Authority.

Bimedia was founded in 2002 in Les Sables d'Olonne and is one of the French leaders in payment and management systems for local shops. It is used in more than 6,000 points of sale, in particular tobacconists, newsagents, bakeries and florists.

The Bimedia business solution is a true ERP for points of sale, and also offers a range of services enabling retailers to generate additional income, as well as an advertising network that distributes digital content for advertisers.

The deal strengthens DL Software’s Retail division (Ginkoia, Fastmag, Futurosoft and Devlyx) and broadens its offering to local stores, following the acquisition of Devlyx in 2018. In keeping with DL Software’s business model, Bimedia and Devlyx will retain their autonomy while combining their vision to better address market needs, with a complementary positioning both in terms of offering and distribution model (direct for Bimedia and via its network of partners for Devlyx).

Guillaume Dewaël will remain at the helm of Bimédia following the acquisition and will join the management board of the DL Software group.
